It’s difficult to think of anyone who has had a more profound and long-lasting impact on FOCUS than Lisa Egan.
We first met her as a twelve-year-old when she joined our Bridge Programme. She later trained with us as a volunteer, briefly joined the staff team, and eventually spent nine years as a member of our Board of Trustees.
When she suddenly and unexpectedly passed away earlier this year, it came as a huge shock for everyone who knew and loved her. Her infectious laugh, her sense of justice, her determination, her passion for campaigning, and her commitment to our work will long be remembered.

If further proof of her love for FOCUS was needed (and it really wasn’t) she generously left us a legacy in her will. The funds she donated have come at a time when fundraising for charities has been incredibly difficult and we are enormously grateful to her. Thank you Lisa.
Keep an eye out for news of our ‘Lisa Egan Days’, when we’ll be supporting young people to campaign for issues that they are passionate about. We hope she’d be proud to know that she will continue to inspire young people after she’s gone.
If, like Lisa, you’d like to leave a legacy for FOCUS in your will, drop us a line to admin@focus-charity.co.uk and we’ll send you an information pack.
