Getting Up To Some Funny Business with Rob Gee’s Comedy Masterclass

How funny could a couple of business-folk really be? Well, on Tuesday 31st January, we found out! As part of the Leicester Comedy Festival, we ran our ‘Liven Up Business’ Workshop at the Big Difference Club on High Street. Under the expert guidance of award-winning comedian and poet, Rob Gee, participants learned the art of stand-up comedy and even created their own unique routines.

The workshop offered business-folk a chance to hone their presentation skills by taking on one of the toughest public speaking challenges there is: making people laugh. The three-hour workshop was a fun, lively, and eye-opening session for everyone.

A real highlight was the quick-fire stand-up routine in which one participant tried to convince his audience that the future of Leicester’s economy lay in mud wrestling! I guess you had to be there!

“It was great – not only a lot of fun, but I learned a lot about improving my presentations.”

– Rajesh Modha, The Finance Lab

Following the success of this workshop, three of our participants, Rajesh Modha, Hitz Rao and Bev Sankey, joined our young people on-stage for a segment of ‘Some Like it LIT! Part 2!’ on the 22nd February. (You can learn more about it here.)

We’re planning more comedy workshops with Rob Gee in the future. Watch this space for news!
