During the October Half-Term break, our Inspire project held its annual half-term scheme. The project’s young people – including some new faces – took part in four memorable days of activities. To make it even better, this year saw the return of the Inspire Residential at Beaumanor Hall.

Led by a team of dedicated adult volunteers, the young people participated in a variety of fast-paced team-building games and outdoor activities. Each was designed to promote collaboration, communication, and leadership. A highlight of the trip was an onsite Bridge Building activity. Teams had to work together to construct a bridge over a stream – or get soaked trying!

In addition, the group took part in creative workshops, focusing on Leicester’s heritage. In groups, they helped sister-project, Leicestival, create banners representing the city’s history. The workshop gave them a deeper appreciation for their local history, as well as their own interests.

‘Haymarket Horrors’ Halloween Event

The young people also planned their annual Halloween community event, which capped off the scheme. For some, this was their first-ever community project – providing a great chance to flex their organisation skills.

Inspire’s ‘Haymarket Horrors’ halloween event took place on Saturday 26th October at Haymarket Shopping Center, and attracted quite the crowd! The fun-day provided the Inspire group the perfect chance to make a positive impact on the community.

Inspire’s October Half-Term Scheme was an invaluable opportunity for young people to step outside their comfort zones, forge new friendships, and build confidence. It was a perfect blend of fun, learning, and personal growth, offering young people a rewarding and inspiring time during the October break.
