PROJECT ASSISTANT MANAGER – INSPIRE

Emma joined FOCUS in the summer of 2021 as a volunteer, hoping to gain some experience of working with young people. At the time, she was studying her Undergraduate Degree in Child and Youth Studies at the University of Derby. Emma went on to undertake her final year university placement with FOCUS, in which she helped on a range of different projects.

Emma has always been passionate about working with young people and making a positive contribution to their well-being and futures. She is soon to undertake her Postgraduate Master’s Degree in September 2022 at Nottingham Trent University, in Youth Work, Leadership and Practice. Emma hopes the degree will help to improve her skills and knowledge in the field of youth work.

“I feel blessed to have found FOCUS and to be a small part of the work they do, helping young people overcome the challenges of the world today. I had an adverse childhood experience as a young person, so I understand and appreciate how important the work delivered at FOCUS is to the young people who attend our projects.”
