PROJECT ASSISTANT
Dan started volunteering at FOCUS in 2022, later joining the team in October 2025. Dan has supported a range of our projects including Inspire, Leicestival, and our most recent project, Facing the Future.
Dan studied in Religion, Philosophy and Ethics, and has always had an interest in the human experience. After volunteering at FOCUS, it was easy to see he’d found his calling in youth work.
“I think being a teenager holds a lot of uncertainty. It’s a time in our lives where we’re still learning who we are, whilst everything around us is changing. I know I had difficulty finding my place in the world and, growing up, my future seemed quite dull. Volunteering at FOCUS taught me how to be confident and how to advocate for myself. I’m very proud to be part of such a caring organisation which leaves a positive impact on our community. I hope I can leave the same impression on young people as FOCUS once did for me.”
