I qualified as a teacher in 1971 and taught Physics at Ashby Grammar School before moving to George Eliot School, Nuneaton as Head of Physics.  During my time teaching I also became involved in Sport (rugby and basketball) and Duke of Edinburghs Award Scheme.  I left teaching after 13 years and moved into technical sales which eventually led to me forming my own company dealing in communications and microwave component for commercial and military use.

Throughout this time I kept up with training and leading D of E groups as it maintained my involvement with young people

After selling my business and taking a year out I went back to work for a company who manufactured engineering equipment for colleges and universities as UK and Ireland Sales Manager.  I did this until retirement at which time I became involved with Rotary and Focus Charity (as a Trustee) to give ‘something back’ and hopefully, make a difference to young peoples lives.
