Following a comprehensive strategic review of our services, we have developed a new portfolio (see A Guide to Our Services PDF 441KB), which we plan to roll out nationally over the next three years.

By the end of 2007 we aim to offer a full range of our services across the country, working in all nine regions of England and becoming a truly national organisation. By working in partnership with schools, statutory agencies, voluntary organisations, and companies in towns and cities from all regions of the country we aim to actively support up to 2,500 young people each year.

Our portfolio will consist of three core services: Challenge, consisting of two unique programmes, in which teams of young people will either be challenged to plan and deliver a project to benefit their local community or take part in our team-building residential events along with management delegates from national companies; Inspire, a residential opportunity through which young people, people with disabilities, business delegates and volunteers will work together to develop skills and self-confidence; and Explore, a range of workshops and projects that will focus specifically on encouraging individuals to further explore their relationships with others and the opportunities that are available to them to achieve their potential.

Having been originally established as a volunteer-run organisation, FOCUS still to this day relies on the outstanding commitment of our volunteers to deliver our unique and powerful programmes. Over the next three years we will strive to utilise and develop that commitment, along with the experience, expertise and enthusiasm of our volunteers to ensure that we successfully implement our ambitious plans.

As we launch our new portfolio of activities across the country we will seek to harness the knowledge and expertise of local staff and volunteers in the areas in which we work. It is vital to the success of our programmes and to maximise the benefits to those who take part that they are delivered by local people and that they address the specific needs and interests of the young people and people with disabilities in that area.

Throughout our continued development and planned growth over the next few years FOCUS will be coordinated by our small central team, based in our offices in Leicester. Please contact us if you would like further information about our plans and aspirations.
