Mark Scott is the Assistant Youth Volunteer Adviser at FOCUS
Hi i’m Mark, Assistant Youth Volunteer Adviser. When I’m not scaling up walls, doing death-defying stunts and fighting the forces of evil I’m hard at work providing young people with a brokerage service that helps to find the right volunteering opportunities to tailor their specific needs.
I started volunteering back in 2006 with Focus on their Summer Residential which was truly an unforgettable experience. From then on I have volunteered in schools as a mentor, organisations such as Connexions and I am currently a volunteer Youth Club Leader for my local area.
With my volunteering experience I have had the opportunity to work in the area of crime prevention and youth work. Now I want to be able to pass on my experiences and give young people the opportunities that I have experienced.
3 words to best describe me are passionate, honest and reliable. Best experience in life so far is sky diving from 15,000 feet in New Zealand, my pet hates are arrogance and people who don’t say thank you grrrr! Claim to fame auditioning for the milky bar kid, I was VERY young and the best piece of advice I could give is always look on the bright side of life, well you have to when being a Leicester City supporter!
